Christmas Rap Up

Well, it is that time of the year. That glorious time of the year. It is the time when I don't have cookies to bake. I don't have a giant ham to wrestle out of my freezer, getting frost bite arms. Don't worry, later I would burn them on the stove getting the ham out. So, I guess the burns cancel each other out. I don't have any shopping to do. All the decorations are getting put away slowly, as I trip over them or get them tangled around my neck while attempting to walk through a doorway. No, more fighting lights that won't light or bows that won't bow. All the candy canes have been eaten off the tree so I no longer have to yell, "Jordan! Get! OUT! of! my! TREE!" And the biggest plus is I have made a ton of crochet gifts and 98% of them are finished, have been wrapped and unwrapped and have brought joy to the select people I actually make stuff for.

I am always so happy to finish a project so I can start a new one. In this case I had like 30 projects going and I am beyond glad to be done with them. All I have left is my husbands blanket. The reason it is still half done is the yarn is NEVER in stock and if it is there is only two balls on the shelf at a time. I refuse to order it from the manufacturer because it is like 3 dollars more expensive. So, I wait. The other gift is a wonderful superhero themed crochet quilt that is making me so proud. It is 5 squares short of being done. I decided to redo the Batman square. It was my first ever attempt at this way of crocheting and as I did the others I got better and perfected my technique. So, I'm redoing it so it doesn't look like crap. ha ha. I need to make a Hulk Square, a Superman Square, and an Aquaman Square as well. He always gets left out so I thought I would include him in this project. Poor Aquaman. Also, I have a purse that, while the crochet part IS done I have lining to sew into it and then I need to attach the handle. It is for someone very special to me so I want it to be perfect.

I'd like to share with you some of the images from my crochet binge this year.

I love to see the joy that a handmade gift, one that you really put thought and heart into, put a smile on someones face. I also like to know, from that smile, that the person truly recognizes the thought and love put into every stitch. Here are my goob friends modeling the things I made them. There were A TON of these poses lol... but I thought I'd just pick my favorites.

So what is next on the agenda?

Finish the Superhero blanket
Finish the Purse
☐  Finish the U of O super plush blanket
☐  Figure out how to make these....

I hope to share some of the great patterns that I have fallen in love with with all of you & I'd love to see some of the great patterns and projects you have made... so, keep in touch and stay tuned!
